Terms & Conditions
Last updated: July 3, 2026
These terms govern your use of the East Cooper Home Store website and services. By using this site, requesting a pickup, or shopping with us, you agree to them.
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
About the Home Store
The East Cooper Home Store is a nonprofit donation center and resale store operated as an affiliate of East Cooper Habitat for Humanity. Proceeds support affordable homeownership in our community. Information on this site is provided for general informational purposes and may change without notice.
Donations and free pickups
- Our donation pickup is a free service offered within our East Cooper service area, subject to scheduling and availability. We are not a junk-removal service.
- We accept gently used, resaleable furniture and household goods. We reserve the right to decline any item at our discretion — including at the time of pickup — if it does not meet our condition, safety, or resale guidelines.
- You are responsible for ensuring items are accessible and accurately described when you submit a request. Please review what we accept on the donate page before scheduling.
- For tax purposes, we can provide a donation receipt at the time of pickup or drop-off. We do not assign or appraise the value of donated items; consult a tax professional regarding deductibility.
Store purchases
Merchandise is sold in-store on an “as-is,” all-sales-final basis unless otherwise stated at the time of sale. Because our inventory is donated and one-of-a-kind, items are not guaranteed to be available, and we make no warranties — express or implied — regarding the condition, fitness, or performance of any item. Prices and availability are subject to change.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse this website — for example, by submitting false or automated form entries, attempting to disrupt the site, or using it for any unlawful purpose. We may restrict access to anyone who violates these terms.
Intellectual property
The content on this site — including text, graphics, logos, and images — is the property of the East Cooper Home Store or its affiliates and is protected by applicable law. You may not reproduce or reuse it without our permission, except as reasonably necessary to use the site for its intended purpose.
Third-party links and services
This site may link to or embed third-party services (such as maps or email delivery). We are not responsible for the content or practices of those third parties. Their use is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
This website and our services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the East Cooper Home Store and East Cooper Habitat for Humanity are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, our pickup service, or items purchased from us.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in South Carolina.
